Happy? Worry? ~Greeting the new life of form six

Orientation Day
Date : 28th May 2007
Time : 6.30 a.m. - 12.00p.m.
Location : SMJK Jit Sin School fields
Participants : Lower & Upper Sixers for year 2007
Rating : Infinity Star

Preparations of Station Games
*
Each of upper six classes was given a chance to design their own station games, for the lower sixers. We were informed by the president of Sixth Form Society about one month earlier before the orientation, and we need to prepare some interesting activities. But as usual, almost all the station games planned by every class had something to do with WATER.. LoL I dont really know exactly why water-related-games are so popular, maybe its because school admins didnt want us to torture newcomers by using fire. * Kidding * Actually we had better plans for more interesting and creative games, but the proposals were rejected by school. Reason? "too dangerous".....Or else it would have been even more "chi kek" to slide from the third floor of C Block to the School Hall. :P
On that day, Pak Koon went out buying Ice cubes and Ice blocks early in the morning. 6.30a.m. Almost everyone gathered around the school field by 7.30a.m. To be brief, our station games consist of three parts:
*
i) Chilling Pool
ii) Penarik Beca Tayar
& iii) Dodge Ball On Soap Water

*
For the first section, the lower sixers which were then divided into groups, were required to stand in a pool of Ice-chilled-water with bare feet. Questions will be directed to the participants, and those who are able to answer in fastest time can move out of the cold water. Those who fail to answer will be required to stand still in the pool.
The second one is quite an ordinary traditional game for Kampung boys, which is to pull a person sitting on a tyre. 2-3persons in a group, they have to pull their teammates from one end to another in the shortest time. This is more like a physical test.
The third one, which was our main dish on that day, is the best among all in our station games. This time, the host itself will compete with the challengers(lower sixers) in a dodge ball game. But you know lar, the old ones will never let these young people escape & win easily. A court was divided into two parts; one with water only, and another one with soap water. The challengers will stand on the more slippery surface(soap water lar). Rules of the game: Each player of a team must try to avoid being hit by the ball thrown by the oppositions. They can either avoid contacting the ball OR to receive the ball without slipping off your hands. Those eliminated can fetch the ball behind the court of their opposition team, and throw them back.
*
Other than these three, other classes prepared different types of games. As i walked around I saw Bio Two using frogs as one of their "tools". Interesting. Couldnt imagine how would girls get into the pool of water with living frogs swimming inside..... *SCREAMMMMMMM!!!!*

We made many "water bombs" to throw them on the lower sixers. Host will splash them with water from the first floor. Some teams were quite passive, and some are real demons. Well here are some photos...........

We Won It! Best Station : Upper Six Bio One !
*
We all waited in the hall together with all lower sixers for the announcement. The most "notorious" group was given the title " The Best Group" and " The Best Group Leader". What we didnt even think about is that our class was crowned " The Best Station" among all Upper Six classes. It's a really good news although we didnt expect much from what we had done. The lower sixers voted us as their favourite Station. Thanks ya the new sixers! And also, not forget to thank all our classmates involved in the station games. They sacrificed alot in preparing and participating in the station games. I could see the joy and fun in everybody, both Upper sixers and lower sixers. Although by the end of the orientation our bodies were covered with muds and dirts, the satisfactions is priceless to us. We've again done a great job to prove that we're always in a team, no matter what.

Bio One , Yeah!

Unexpected event : Great Explosion of Bukit Minyak

View to the direction of Dell factory from our school.

*

When we were cleaning up all the tools, the sky turned dark, and the sun light was blocked by the gigantic mushroom-formation- smoke. An explosion occured near our school. It reminded me the scene of the bombing of Hiroshima in the documentary film. It was no ordinary open burning, and its really scary to see the blue sky being covered with thick back smoke. I captured a few precious photos to share with you all...

Lee was among the first to alarm the fire department
